Yes, today we get 2 turtle doves as the song goes. With only today and tomorrow left, the end is mercifully close. It would be easy to say that it just seems like last week that we arrived here, but that wouldn't be true. The road has been hard and long.
Following work yesterday, we went to the motorhome of Sue and Rodger to have our final get together before we go our separate ways again. They are staying over and will work into early January to help wrap up the peak season at Amazon. Their motorhome was beautifully decorated for Christmas:
We visited for over 2 hours and enjoyed some wine, conversation and a nice small meal of cold cuts and chips. The inside of their motorhome was also nicely decorated for Christmas and we have this final shot that we took as we were leaving from our visit:
We will miss them but will keep in touch. They are giving thought to pursuing the Holiday Retirement option and will keep tabs on our progress as we go through our training and move on to Southern California to our assignment. They would be an excellent fit for that work with their backgrounds in sales and management.
We are holding our breath for the weather. It is hanging just around freezing at 31 degrees but again, the forecast is for slightly warming temperatures with some showers expected for Tuesday - the day we leave. That's better than snow, but we will be happy to head south to warmer weather...
