Long Travel Day to CA

Our flight didn't leave Louisville yesterday until 2:55 PM so we had plenty of time in the AM to get ready. It was so nasty outside - 35 degrees, overcast and some snow flurries - that we decided to leave early and wait a bit longer at the airport. Since we really didn't know where we were going, it was a good idea.

We waited at the airport for over 2 hours at the gate, but we had plenty of reading material and we ate lunch before boarding. The flight was on time, and believe me, flying is just a royal pain in the butt anymore. Josie was wearing a sweater and because she didn't remove it to go through security, they gave her the well publicized "pat down" and thorough body check. The worst part of the day was the small airplane used from Louisville to Houston - an express jet - that reminded us more of a corporate jet with its small interior. There were 3 seats across in about a six foot width of the fuselage and there was very little leg room. We struggled for the 2 hours to get to Houston. There was a 2 hour layover in Houston and we caught another, larger jet, for the 3 hour flight to Ontario, CA. We arrived at 7:30 PM PST, which made it 10:30 our time. It was a long day.

Our car was ready at Thrifty and we drove the 10 minutes to the Valencia Commons Community where there was a manager waiting for us to take us to our room. We have a 2 bedroom apartment that is very nice, albeit lightly decorated. We went to a local COCO's for some dinner and turned in for the night.

The view of the San Gabriel mountains from our room is nice:

The little white car on the right is our rental car - a Ford Fusion. It was dark when we arrived last night so this shot was taken this morning. Hopefully, there will be more photos today.

We are about ready to leave for our interview - downstairs - with the Regional Manager. It is suppose to last one hour and then we will get a tour of the facility and then get ready to leave for home. Another long travel day that will get us home in Campbellsville around 1 AM.

We hope all goes well today...
