Back to Work

We knew that the temperatures would eventually find their way down to the frigid zone before we left. It was 22 degrees outside this morning after a high of only 38 yesterday. We're hoping that it doesn't go much lower and it begins to warm up again since we don't need problems with frozen valves on our holding tanks.

Our offer letters from Holiday Retrement and relocation paperwork were completed last night and forwarded to the HR people in Oregon. Our exact schedule needs to be finalized when we know for sure about the training details. All we know at this point is that training will be in either Denver or Dallas, beginning on January 9. What we don't know yet is if we can travel there from AZ or do we have to be in Vista at our new location by then. We'll find out more on Monday or Tuesday.

It was difficult going back to work yesterday. Even though we only have 6 more working days left, our heads are just not into the job at this point. We are soooo ready to be done with this job right now. They finally got my vest to wear for the rest of the time:

It's hardly worth it to begin this program with only 6 days left, but I'll give it my best shot. My added duty is to assist in coaching workampers that are struggling with their stowing. Maybe I can help increase their productivity for the rest of the time. We'll see.

Our plan is to get our Christmas shopping done this week on our days off. That also means another trip to Louisville which will probably be our last. It is nice to be thinking that much of what we do over the next week or so will be for the last time...
