Byram, MS

We got a fairly early start yesterday - 9:30 AM - and only had to travel 213 miles. That means we arrived early - at 1:30 PM - which gave us lots of time to relax and go into town (Jackson, MS) to do some last minute shopping. Our RV park (Swinging Bridge RV Resort) is not too bad:

The extra time allowed us to go up the road a bit, about 15 miles, to a shopping mall where there was a - you guessed it - Kohl's. We spent some time trying to locate some last minute Christmas gifts for each other and then we went to dinner at a Red Lobster. It's been a long time since we ate at one of those and we both enjoyed a great dinner to kick-off the Christmas holiday.

Our schedule calls for traveling only 177 miles today to New Orleans. We are looking forward to arriving early, getting set up, and walking around the French Quarter on Christmas Eve. We are hoping that the French Quarter stays active through the holiday so we can spend a lot of time seeing all the nice shops and entertainment that it has to offer. We will have 3 nights there, so it should be a nice break from travel. We will also try to locate a local church so we can attend the Christmas Eve service tonight.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !
