Final Taste of Warm Weather

It was even warmer yesterday than it was on Saturday - 66 vs 64. It was again sunny, but change is in the air. It is raining this morning and the expected high is in the mid 50's, but it's downhill from there. We are expected to be back in the high 20's at night by Thursday morning. It still shows temperatures in the 40's during the day in the forecast, so we hope it is accurate.

Our final day of this long work week (5 days) is today and then we will take our normal 3 days off. The atmosphere at work is getting more festive with many people wearing Santa hats and holiday clothing. It doesn't change the fact that there are still no "festive" goodies like we had last year - the gift card giveaways and fresh fruit in the break areas. There is some talk that the orders aren't as great as last year, but we don't buy that. We just set a record for production on one day last week. We believe the problem this year is new management and many more people working. In fact, they even offered VTO (Voluntary Time Off) to the Pickers yesterday. We think it is due more to having twice the number of Pickers this year rather than having lower order volume.

Whatever happens, we only have 9 more working days - including today - before saying sayonara to Amazon this year. One thing is for sure, and that is we will never say it went fast...
