It looks like we may get lucky and not have any more frigid temperatures before we leave here next week. The long term (7 day) forecast has some rain in it but no freezing temperatures or snow. That is one thing that is much better this year - the overall weather.
Yesterday turned out to be a day of not much action. We caught up on rest and watched some copied TV shows from the week and went to get some groceries. We saw one of our co-workers in the store yesterday and he told us about another of our co-workers that was involved in a serious accident down the street during the shift changes in the morning. We had heard the sirens and the crash was a result of one of the night workers falling asleep at the wheel after working a 12 hour shift and hitting her car. It's a wonder that there aren't more accidents like that as there are many, many people working 12 hour shifts. That's way too much time to work this very physical job for 5 five days straight.
Some emails were sent to a couple of the Holiday Retirement departments to get clarification and we are still waiting on answers from the relocation department. It will become much easier to plan when we know for sure where we will have to be on January 8 to travel to training class. We need to lock in the timing for moving our household goods to Vista.
Our plan is to go to Louisville today to do some shopping and to activate Josie's new phone. Other than that, we are just enjoying our last break before returning to work for our final shift of 4 days beginning on Friday...
