A Taste of Winter

Winter is not too far off. It is 37 degrees outside this morning and we aren't even into November yet. It seems like winter has arrived early this year since the weather was much warmer when we arrived here last year about this time. Although this time last year we were planning our departure from Patty's home in Naperville and one year ago today, we went to the casino in Aurora, IL, and introduced Patty to the slot machines. She didn't fair too well but overall we won some money and had a good experience there. It was also the end of the regular high school football season as we had an opportunity to watch Austin's final games. We missed that this year.

Austin's final regular season game was last night and his team won again, 32-8 to finish 8-1 on the season. The information I read this morning indicated that he had 2 touchdowns in the victory, and they are now waiting to see who they face in the first round of the playoffs. What a season for Austin and his team. It will be fun to follow the playoffs as his team has won home field advantage for the first game.

The couple (Theresa and Larry) that we worked with in Grey's Point, VA, and is now working at Amazon is struggling to adjust to the physical nature of the work. Theresa was in a lot of pain yesterday and was looking for ways to shorten her days. She is the one that had health issues before they arrived and we are sorry, but not surprised, that it is not a pleasant time for them. We hope that it works out for her.

Day number 2 of our week is today and it's time to get ready, so we'll see 'ya tomorrow...
