Blog Changes

One of the frustrations I've had with writing this blog is working with the map of our travels. If you noticed, there is a new map in "FOLLOW OUR TRAVELS" on the main page. This replaces the awkward and cumbersome Google map that I tried to maintain over the last (almost) 3 years. Now, if you click on the Travel Map link, a nice, full page, single map pops up showing all the stops we've made since we started in Surprise, AZ in April, 2009. All of the stops can be accessed by the numeric number in the left margin, or by clicking on the actual "dot" representing the location on the map. I plan to include the blog reference dates with the brief description of each stop so that the blog entries while at those locations can be accessed. It is much easier to work with, and much easier to see all the places we've been on one page. Of course, you have to read the blog entries associated with those stops to know what we did, and where we visited during those stops, but it will be very easy to click on a location and find in the blog the descriptions of those activities. It kind of ties it all together.

Most of the morning yesterday was spent developing the map and more will be done today to plug in the referenced blog entries for each location.

We did take a trip to Louisville to the Costco store. The weatherman missed the forecast yesterday and starting in Elizabethtown, we had rain the rest of the day - all the way to Louisville and then back home. Following our visit to Costco, we stopped at the Kohl's store that was in the same area to check on "steals" we could make. Josie got some tops, but I didn't see anything that I had to have, so we got off pretty cheap. This is the second consecutive week now that we have had lousy weather on our days off.

It's still raining this morning, so we'll just get on with our plans for spending most of the day inside. We are going to a buffet dinner at the "Magic Wok" with our friends Rodger and Sue at 3 PM, so that should be fun. Of course, it is Chinese, and we have been there before to know that it is excellent. Throw in some laundry and that about sums up our plan for today...
