Even though it was only 39 degrees yesterday morning, it warmed up to 66 by afternoon. The forecast is for temperatures to reach into the high 70's by Tuesday which is fine for us. That is about what we had this time last year where we enjoyed mild temperatures for the first 2 weeks, then winter arrived with a vengeance. I guess we will need to make all final preparations for the cold weather while we are off this week before winter does arrive.
We received the playoff information from Patty for Austin's high school state championship playoffs. His team is the top seed in its bracket and will have the first game on their home field which is a huge advantage. The team they are playing will have to travel 5 hours to get to the game which will probably be scheduled on Saturday. That's a long way to travel for a game and could mean a much longer ride home following the game. We hope so. This is where the rubber meets the road and we're rooting for Austin and his team to do well.
This week has shown us that there is a pattern developing for our work schedules. I have spent most of my time the last couple days performing what is called "stock case" stowing which is emptying and stowing product from boxes into bins. It is much more physical than normal stowing where the product is already removed from boxes and loaded onto carts for stowing. Josie has been spending much of her time in "putbacks" stowing for products that have been returned by customers for different reasons, and in HRV (High Retail Value) stowing of items in a secured area. She achieved over 100% for her work a couple days ago, so she is happy about that. I can also brag and say I received a notice and a gold coin for finishing last week at over 100%. These coins are valued at $1 and are used in the vending machines in the break areas. It's not a lot, but it's better than nothing.
We're looking forward to ending our work week today and will put week # 15 on the books at the end of the day...
