Plodding Through the Week

It was another day filled with different assignments for both of us. I worked in a couple different areas where the stowing involved opening and emptying cases, some of them pretty heavy. Josie worked in the "putbacks" area where all items returned by customers are stowed. The only problem with our working in those areas is that our stow rates are lower as a result of so many single items being stowed. The best stow rates are achieved when there are multiples of each item and they usually can be stowed together. Not that it really matters.

It was also another day where people were asked if they would like to leave work early. Again, we told them we would lose overtime hours if we cut the normal work week short for any reason, so we passed. Yesterday was the key day for us to solidify the Tuesday overtime day. Every hour we worked yesterday was time and a half for us. Thankfully, there are only 2 more days left for this week and week number 14 will be history.

We received another call yesterday from a Resort in the Palm Springs area asking if we would be available to work the winter months there. Once again, we had to pass on that as a result of the timing. It is still a great area to be during the winter, but with our commitment here until late December, our options are limited.

That will wrap up the short entry for today as we prepare for our 3rd work day of this week...
