While looking at the calendar, I discovered that we haven't taken our normal Tuesday day off since September 20. We have been working the Tuesdays's as overtime so it's been awhile. It has come at a good time since our anniversary falls right in the middle of the 3 days off - Wednesday - so we will plan something special for that day and not worry about going to work the next day. It will be 40 years on Wednesday.
One of the goals during our time off is to see some of the beautiful fall colors that are just about in peak at this time of year. While talking to some locals at work, it seems the best place to view the colorful trees is at Cumberland Falls State Park which is about 115 miles from here, in Southeastern Kentucky. It would be almost a 3 hour drive, so we would need most of a full day to go but it would be worth the trip according to these people. The other place we would like to go is to the Casino in Southeastern Indiana that we already spent time and money to visit. The question is - is it worth one more try to make that trip worthwhile. Remember, the last time we went our money went faster than the speed of light. It is in the opposite direction of the fall colors trip, so we probably are talking about separate trips. We also heard that the bridge that we used to cross over Into Indiana from Louisville is closed, so I'm not sure how far out of the way we would have to go to get there at this point.
At any rate, the weather has been very good. We've had no rain so far in October, and the temperatures have been very comfortable. If it will only hold out for the next 3 days, we'll be very happy...
