It looks like the last gasp for summer has arrived. It was 83 degrees yesterday with calm winds and clear skies, and was too nice to just stay around the rig all day and waste the nice day - so, we went to Elizabethtown. There were some things we needed from Sams Club, so it seemed like the perfect time to go. The fall colors are almost at their peak and it was a beautiful day to take a drive. I'm sure there won't be many more days like yesterday - at least that we have off.
We took extra time to walk around Sams Club and actually did well to keep our bill around $200, which is a major victory anytime you go to these warehouse stores. We also stocked up on snacks for breaks at work and bought a ceramic space heater for the upcoming cold weather to supplement our propane use which was very high last year. We had already gotten a small heater to use in the bedroom, and yesterday we got a small, revolving floor unit for the living area. This extra heater has a timer so that it will come on while we are at work and have our rig nice and warm by the time we get off work, and will save on propane. Our electric fireplace is also a good alternative source for heat that we use all the time, but that doesn't start up until we get home to turn it on.
It was late afternoon by the time we got home and Josie went to do our laundry before settling in for the night. It is now time to begin our 14th week here and we have 10 more to go. This week will be a 4 day week as we have already decided to pass on the overtime day on Tuesday. We feel that working 1 extra day every other week should work fine - at least until it gets to the busy season following Thanksgiving. Come to think of it, Thanksgiving really isn't that far away...
