Watching WMU Rout

The most significant activity of the day yesterday was enjoying watching Austin's team at Western Michigan University (WMU) trounce Eastern Michigan University (EMU) 51-7. Once again, the turnaround by that team is incredible. The individual that stole Austin's main position at halfback is among the leaders in rushing throughout the country. He is averaging 150 yards per game, and Austin will have a hard time displacing this freshman. It doesn't matter though, as the team now has won 5 in a row to bring their overall record to 7-3 and are almost a cinch for a bowl game as they are tied for the division lead in their conference. Austin is still playing on all the special team plays and is doing very well. Congratulations to him.

I also took a five mile bike ride before the game started and got a couple of nice shots. This first one is of the pretty desert that surrounds the resort:

This next one is of the lake with all the sail boats on the water. There seemed to be more boats than usual so I wonder if there was a regatta or race of some kind:

The day was beautiful but has turned sour this morning. Already we have wind gusts up to 30 mph and it is only 7 AM. The forecast is for breezy - here, that means very windy - for the next couple days. We plan to take a drive to the Camping World RV store in Mesa today to look at a couple of park model RV's that is another option we have been thinking about. We'll (hopefully) get some shots of those and shed more light on that option tomorrow...
