The main chore for me to complete while Josie worked yesterday was to get the truck all gassed and ready to go for our trip south. Along with that, I did some shopping for a few groceries to build up our fuel credits. The timing was pretty good for the gas fill as the gas prices went down $.06 per gallon yesterday morning making the price, without discount, $3.89 per gallon. We had 500 points carried over from August which meant the first fill attempt (35 gallons) would cost us $3.39 per gallon. There were 200 points carried over from August which gave us another 35 gallons at $3.69 per gallon. It was topped off at full price. It ended up costing us $273 to fill both tanks on the truck. It sounds like a lot, and it is, but it would have been over $300 without the discounts. At any rate, the truck is ready to go.
While returning home from the store, I snapped this shot of three gliders getting ready to fly off the edge of the hill across the street:
Today is the start of the youth soccer tournament and the lodge is filled to capacity. Josie worked yesterday AM and the front desk is ready to handle the kids that will be running in and out - and through - the lobby , mostly to get hot chocolate which is available 24 hours a day in the lobby. Every year, the kids make a run on our hot chocolate and almost always create spills all over the counter. It keeps us busy wiping up spills the whole weekend.
The rain that was in the forecast has already started this morning so I'm guessing that some of the games might be postponed - not good news for the front desk staff. It is difficult enough handling the crowd on a nice day. Unfortunately, Josie works the full day today - 16 hours - for the last time. She may be a basket case by the end of the day...
