Every year we get a couple items of clothing that have the Virginian logo so we can wear them as part of our working uniforms. The lodge pays for the first item and we can order whatever we want (at a nice discount) beyond the first item - but at our own expense. This year, I purchased a nice vest and Josie bought a light (pink) jacket.
She discovered that the jacket was missing on Sunday and tried to retrace her steps to try to locate it. The last time she remembered wearing it was to the Laundromat on Saturday morning. We concluded that she left it there when she completed the laundry late Saturday morning. She has been bumbed-out since Sunday when she discovered the loss and couldn't even sleep Sunday night as a result of being so upset with herself for losing the jacket.
We decided to try to order her a replacement yesterday when we went into work. Judy, our front desk manager, suggested she contact our housekeeping department to see if they might have recovered the jacket. Sure enough, they had found a pink jacket in the Laundromat on Saturday and it was hers. It was like the weight of the world was removed from her shoulders and she was given the best possible gift anyone could receive.
The month of September is going to be filled with overtime hours. Josie has volunteered for two extra shifts per week for the month. I haven't volunteered for any extra shifts because I expect to have to do some extra work preparing everything in our fifth wheel for the trip south. There are some minor repairs that need to be done before we leave and I have been putting them off for a long time. No matter what else we accomplish in September, it will be in cooler weather as we watch the Fall season rapidly approach...
