Our September at the front desk will be a huge departure from the rest of the season. We will work mostly alone during the second half of our shifts and the remaining portions will be split between Donna and Rachel (her daughter). The weekend shifts will be with Judy's daughter, Nicole, who has years of experience at the front desk. There will be no more working with new employees with attitudes and no desire to work. That should make it a pleasant end to our season.
The business aspect has changed with all the closures now for the season. It is getting harder to make recommendations to the guests for activities, and our restaurant has stopped serving dinner for the rest of the season. We don't remember having such a long period with the services cut back. Our swimming pool will remain open, though, until September 30.
Everything else should be business as usual and the cooler mornings and shorter days will result in the Fall colors appearing sooner than later. It should make for some pretty drives through the Tetons.
Our plan this morning is to fire-up the truck and drive it to Victor, ID to have the tires inspected and brought up to proper inflation for the trip south. I had mentioned that I thought there might be a slow leak in the right front tire, but it doesn't seem to be any different than a couple weeks ago when I put air in the tire and mixed it with the nitrogen already in the tire. We'll find out this morning just how low - if at all - the tires are and have them all ready to go for the first of October. We are getting close to requiring new tires all around, and I don't look forward to that day.
We started turning on our heater for one cycle each of the last several mornings, so that is a sure sign of the changing season. We don't see much change in the AZ weather - still hot - so we are hoping that changes in the near future...
