The final game on the schedule for us was yesterday at a different ball park. The coach came at 10:15 to pick up the twins and we made it to the field by 12 noon to watch the game. The only surprise for us was that Brandon was pitching this game instead of catching as he had been in the other games:
The team they played had only lost one game so far this year while winning six. It looked like a long day when it started out as they scored 2 runs in the first inning. In the third inning, the twins' team erupted for 6 runs and held on to win 6-3. They actually should have won 6-2 but with two outs in the last inning, they scored on a missed popup that was lost in the sun. That would have been caught 99 % of the time for the third and game ending out. Both boys played a terrific game, making key plays and getting key hits in the big inning. We treated them to Taco Bell following the game and then headed home.
The rest of the day was spent with quiet home activities. I did some burgers on the grill for dinner and caught this Heron - or a species of the heron - standing at the edge of the lake out back of the house:
Patty and Mark are arriving home this morning after flying all night from Hawaii and waiting at the airport in LA for two hours to catch a connecting flight. We will take the boys to school and will be home a little after they arrive at the house at around 8 AM. It was a fast week that is winding down today as we catch our own flight back to Seattle tomorrow AM...
