Two Days of High Winds

The high winds I mentioned yesterday continued all day and through most of the night. We cannot remember having two consecutive days and nights of such strong winds - 20 mph gusts with steady winds in the 12-15 mph range. There was a severe storm watch for yesterday evening but it appears that it just missed our area and went mostly to the northwest of us. It was a good example of the wild swings in weather we have been having. For the record, we had a high of 74 yesterday with a low of 65. It is 55 and raining outside this morning.

Amazon treated the employees to an early Thanksgiving dinner yesterday at our lunch break which extended our lunch break 15 minutes to a total of 45 minutes. The food was excellent and we are appreciative of Amazon's efforts to do something nice for the workforce. Speaking of work, we can brag a little about our performances. Josie and I both received notice and coins for over 100% performance last week. Josie also performed without any mistakes for the week which is very difficult to do. My notice was the 11th time I received a coin and notice for over 100% performance for the week. By the way, the coins are used in the vending machines at work and are valued at $1 each. It's better than nothing.

We will have another dinner out tonight. Our friends "Tee" and Larry will be leaving on Saturday for North Carolina where they will spend 2 weeks in training for their new jobs in Florida at a Holiday Retirement Center. It is an exciting time for them.

One of the activities we have planned for our days off is to take out Christmas from our basement storage and get set up for the holidays. We purchased a couple window decorations at Walmart last night to help us get in the Christmas spirit a little earlier this year. Wow! There are only 5 more working weeks before Christmas...
