The signs of Thanksgiving being just around the corner are beginning to show. Work was extremely busy yesterday so evidently there were some freight deliveries that were not scheduled. Josie and I both worked our tails off all day and at 3:30 we accepted a 1 hour VTO to get home a little early and take showers and wind down. We expect the volume of work to steadily build now until the end in late December. That means that overtime hours are not far away.
Amazon has scheduled a catered Thanksgiving dinner for today. They have the local Creek Side restaurant - where we had Thanksgiving dinner last year and will go again this year - coming in to handle the meal. We will have an extra 15 minutes for lunch break to enjoy the meal which means we get 45 minutes instead of the usual 30. It still isn't a lot of time to eat a full meal. The good thing about it is we don't have to prepare our own lunch to take this morning. The other good thing is that it is our "Friday" and our work week ends today.
The last day and a half have been super windy here. We have had steady winds with gusts over 20 mph since early yesterday. It is still blowing and we can't remember it being so windy all the time. The fifth wheel rocks and shakes when it blows hard and we even put away our patio table and carpet when we came home yesterday. The table had already blown over and the carpet was all folded over from the wind. Temperature wise, it was 70 degrees yesterday with a low of 54. It's already 66 outside so it looks like another wild swing in the temperatures. As long as the swing is upward, and not down into freezing territory...
