It was about midday when I began to feel better yesterday. The sore throat was almost completely gone - I still don't know what caused that - and we completed our 21st week at Amazon. Both of us worked in the Prep area for the first time in a couple weeks to end the day. It rained again the whole day and we have accumulated another 1.8" in just over 2 days. At least it stays a little warmer when it's raining as we have been around 60 degrees each day.
The voluntary overtime program kicks in this Friday after Thanksgiving. Since our work week doesn't begin until Friday, our first full overtime day will be next Thursday. This year, they have the overtime day at the start of the week instead of the end as they did last year. With 4 weeks left to work, we will be working (5) 10 hour days the rest of the way. That still gives us 2 days off each week and we feel we can manage that for a short time. Florida is looking better everyday.
Our plan when we leave here at the end of our work is to drive to Memphis to spend Christmas. Neither of us has been there and we want to see Graceland with all the Christmas lights and decorations. The Christmas lighting ceremony was held on November 18, but there is a link to a LiveCam of the mansion. It should be a lot better than spending Christmas in the Camping World parking lot in Chattanooga, TN, as we did last year. Then, it will be a straight shot to Orlando and the Thousand Trails campground. That sure sounds good.
We will enjoy our next 3 days off and look forward to the Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday at the Creek Side Restaurant with our friends...
