Once again the VTO (Voluntary Time Off) was offered yesterday, and once again we took the time beginning at 1:30 PM. It is only 3 hours early, but because it is the start of our time off for the week, it is a good jump start. The extra time yesterday was used for a shopping trip to Walmart to get some groceries and other items. It was also a good chance for me to treat a cold I am catching that revealed itself yesterday morning. This morning, I can hardly talk, and hope that I can get it under control before we return to work on Friday.
There were no trick-or-treater's last night which kind of surprised us since we had some the night before. We can't figure out what that was all about.
One of the things we talked about doing was taking a trip to Nashville on Wednesday. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive (140 miles), so it isn't too bad. If the weather is nice it will be a pleasant drive. We may take in the Bluebird Cafe or the Wildhorse Saloon where we had dinner last year. Both are famous more for their music than the food. It is a great town to just walk around and take in the country and western atmosphere.
I started with a spoonful of honey (Josie's remedy) this morning but my voice is still almost gone entirely. It's been awhile since we've had to deal with any kind of illness, so we are fortunate from that standpoint. If a cold is the worst thing we have to deal with, we'll be satisfied...
