Winter Olympics End

As always, the Olympics became a story with good news and bad news, some surprises and some disappointments. We finished at number 4 in the total medal count, behind the usual Winter Olympic heavyweights - Norway, Germany and Canada. For the life of me, I can't understand how they can group the "banned" Olympians from Russia in a category called Olympic Athletes from Russia. What does the term "banned" mean if they still participate as Russians? Also, our weaknesses in certain sports - namely, bobsled and ski jumping - were noticeable. We need to somehow figure out a way to improve in those areas. They are still fun to watch.

I also watched the final round of the Honda Classic Golf Tournament in Florida. Tiger Woods played much better in this tournament after missing the cut last week. Maybe there is a chance that he will regain the form he had before all the surgeries and injuries over the last several years. Once these pros pass 40 years of age, they all seem to lose some of the key ingredients for success. Perhaps it's their bodies losing the flexibility and agility of youth. I know I am in that group. The tournament was won in a playoff by Justin Thomas who appears to be the new dominant player on the tour. Next year, it will probably be somebody else. We miss the players like Palmer, Nicklaus and Woods that were there, year in and year out for a long time.

We are sneaking up on the first of March as time seems to be sailing by. Soon, we will be counting the days for our departure to Jackson...
