Stormy

We went to the Grand Canyon on Thursday because of the not-so-friendly weather forecast for yesterday. It was a good thing. We had a pretty vicious storm yesterday afternoon while we were out-and-about that caused some damage to our outdoor furniture. We expected rain, but not high winds.

We neglected to retract our umbrella before we left in the afternoon - actually, the skies were clear and the air calm when we left so we never thought to do that.little chore. We should know by now that even if it is clear and no rain or wind is in the forecast that we should do that anyway.

This is what we saw when we returned home:

The glass top to the table shattered and the umbrella sustained a broken arm so it is also ruined. We are thankful that the wind wasn't blowing the opposite direction or the disaster would have ended up in the pool. Now, I have that mess to clean up today.

We ended the week last night with a nice fish and chips meal at Cracker Barrel. Here are the shots from our final night out for the week:

Kristine and Justin will leave to go home today. Their flight is at 1:50 PM, so I will take them to the airport by 12:30 while Josie is at work. What a fun week we had. It was great seeing both of them again and we're sure that the week was a wonderful time for them to be able to spend so much quality time together. We will miss them and hope that it isn't so long now before we get to see them again...
