Still Cookin'

The weather forecast was right on yesterday - another scorcher. It was 118 degrees for the second consecutive day and it was another stay inside kind of day. I did go outside in the morning to water the plants and shrubs with some extra water as I'm sure the sprinklers aren't giving enough water in this heat. The last three days have been 116, 118 and 118 again. Can't wait to see what our number will be today.

We received our second electric bill since we moved into the house and it looks like some of the adjustments we made are paying off. Of course, the first month we didn't pay any attention at all to the electric use. We went from an initial bill of $400 to $287 this past month. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we were gone for the one week we were in Jackson, WY, but it also reflects due diligence in our paying attention to temperature settings, lights, fans and generally not wasting any electric. We also have the gas range now instead of the electric, so that has helped.We'll see how this third month goes with our being here the entire month.

The final round of the PGA golf tournament is today and Jordan Spieth is right there - he will play in the final group as he is only 2 shots back in second place right now. Wouldn't it be something if he wins his third major tournament of the year. It's for sure that I'll be watching the final round today...
