Walk Into Town

Our walk for yesterday was into town. With the Fair picking up steam and the beautiful weather, it was an easy decision. The rides are all ready to go starting today and going through the weekend:

Most of the Fair activity to date has been the 4-H and other horse activities. Today, the Exhibit Hall opens and all the other Fair attractions and booths will open.

Our walk into town was through a couple areas that we haven't walked in a long time, plus our usual walk around the Town Square to check out any new offerings in the stores we like. We didn't buy anything, but took this shot of the antler arches which are always fascinating:

Our total distance was over 3 miles and we stopped at a Mexican restaurant - El Abuelito - that was on the way home. We haven't eaten Mexican in a while, and it was enjoyable with a margarita to boot!

It's nice to be away from the rate race at work for a couple days. Our plan is to catch the Fair activities this morning and possibly take a drive somewhere this afternoon. Our bikes were dropped off yesterday at the shop where we purchased them last year to have them tuned up. We expect to have those ready for pickup either today or tomorrow.

We are excited to find out what, if any, prizes our Fair entries have won. We'll let you know tomorrow...
