Different Faces

It was back to work again yesterday for the start of another week. There are more buses this year than last, and along with those, some different faces. We already have been handling buses from an Asian group this year, and last night we encountered another different type. For the first time, we had a group - arriving in two buses - that was from a church in Detroit and contained young people from a youth group. There were about a hundred kids that arrived  right at 11 PM when we were getting ready to leave work - and it was mass confusion. Josie and I stayed over to help Rachel (our night time auditor) get these people checked in and settled. It is hard for us to imagine two buses traveling across country with these young people that are full of pent-up energy after sitting in the bus for two full days of traveling. It's also a shame that they arrived so late and are leaving this morning and not getting a chance to see or enjoy the beauty of this area. We don't know where they are headed from here, but we hope it is into the parks.

Our work day was also greeted by another group that was totally disorganized. It was a band that was in town to play at a wedding somewhere in the area and the person in charge had no organization for the group check-in procedure. Everybody was walking around the lobby, confused about where they should go, and the leader was no where in sight. Hardly any of the rooms were ready for check-in and we had a hard time getting things together for the group. So, our day was almost normal except for the start and finish. Sometimes it gets that way.

It looks like summer has finally arrived. We had another gorgeous day yesterday with temps in the 80's and it is clear again this morning. We plan to switch our bike rack over to the Jeep so we can begin our bike rides through the Tetons again. The weather has been so lousy up to now, we haven't attempted any rides in the park. We're getting the itch again to get out and get some exercise with our bikes that have been waiting patiently for the chance...
