It's a good thing that we had other objectives to achieve with our trip to Idaho Falls yesterday. We left at 10 AM and traveled the normal route over the Teton Pass, through Victor and Swan Valley into Idaho Falls. Our main objective was to stop at the Bank of America branch in Idaho Falls, with side trips to Sam's Club and Michaels. The GPS took us directly to where the B of A branch "should" have been located. It is a Washington Federal branch now. Josie went inside to ask what happened to B of A and they indicated that B of A is vacating Idaho altogether and the only remaining branch is in Coeur D'Alene. So now, B of A has no branches in WY and ID. What a disappointment. One of the main reasons we use B of A is because they are a large bank with offices in every state. Sure. We will rethink our association with B of A as they are no longer in two of the states where we spend quite a bit of time. We did stop at Sam's Club and Michaels and we were home by 5:30 last night.
It turns out that I can set up an account, online, with B of A to transfer money between accounts at another bank. Our account at US Bank was opened as a result of not having B of A offices in WY in the first place. We have a US Bank branch down the road from our lodge, so that is very convenient. We may end up making that bank our major bank account - although I hate the thought of transferring everything over from our automatic deposits and bill paying accounts that we have set up at B of A. Sheesh.
Our plan this morning was to go to the breakfast in town that is sponsored by the Jaycees. We changed that plan as we did not get any comp tickets this year for the breakfast. Last year, we had one comp ticket and paid $10 for the second breakfast. As we would have to pay $20 for the two of us this year, we didn't think it was worth it. The parade starts at 10:30, so we will be in town for that start in plenty of time. We will then come home and either sit out in the beautiful weather or take a bike ride somewhere. The fireworks will be held behind our campground starting at about 10 PM, so we will be able to watch those from our home.
Happy 4th of July everybody....
