We closed out June yesterday with a rare sunny day. The month of June was the coldest we have experienced since we started our summer visits to Jackson. We only reached 80 degrees one day during the month, and that was at 79.7 on June 24. The coldest day was June 16 when we went down to 32.5 degrees and the winds were more of a problem in June with several days having wind gusts over 20 mph. The sun is shining again today and we are expecting temperatures to rise into the 80's in time for the 4th of July festivities.
We mowed the grass yesterday and went to the grocery store for our morning activities. The truck got its first drive since we arrived here in May. The gas savings that we have enjoyed since limiting its use has been significant.
We also heard from George with an update on the progress - or lack of progress - on his back pain. With very little change in his mobility and ability to sit for long periods of time, he felt it would be best if he and Cheryl cancelled their plans for a visit to Jackson later this month. We certainly understand and know that this is not a place where you want to come and just lie around for a week. It's not fun suffering the way he is and we hope that he can find a solution soon so that he can get back to doing normal activities. We'll try to reschedule the visit again next year.
Our "Thursday" is today and we are racing through another work week leading up to the big 4th of July celebration. The lodge is nearly sold out and we expect a very busy two days leading up to the holiday weekend...
