Tough Week Ends

This past week was one of the toughest we've had this year. The lodge was either sold out or close to being sold out each night, and there were occasions during this past week when we had situations that were not normal. Last night was one where we had some new, different and unnecessary situations. The big problems stemmed from the fact that there is no off-hours contact for the RV park and we dealt with situations that we are not responsible for and don't get paid to handle. It's not bad enough that we get bunches of phone calls for the RV park that we have to transfer during normal hours, but last night we had situations where folks had reservations for the park and their were no instructions for them on the night board to check into the park after hours. The RV park closes down at 10 PM, but folks are still arriving after that time. The other situations we had to deal with were related to lapses in responsibilities from the previous shift at the front desk. We ran out of necessary forms, printers ran out of paper, room keys were placed in the wrong slots and reservations were wrong. If everybody just paid attention to his duties, there would be a lot fewer problems for the next guy.

Our whitewater trip is scheduled for this morning and we are waiting for a confirmation call from Jackson Hole Whitewater regarding our confirmation. When your spot on the raft is "comped", you are susceptible to being bumped by a paying customer. We just received the call at 7:35 and we are being bumped to tomorrow AM at 8:00. So, we now have today to schedule another, different activity. Maybe a bike ride will be in order. At any rate, we are glad to have the next two days off to relax and have some fun...
