Cabin Fever

It has been very different this year as it is the first time - since we started out over 5 years ago - that we have spent an extended amount of time in one place with only one vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed the extra time that I have to do some things I wouldn't have done otherwise. But - I sure do miss the option of going somewhere during the days when Josie works. It only leaves the weekends to go places and has a tendency to create cabin fever during the week. That all ends soon though, as we both will be working the spring training games in late February and all of March.

We will venture out today to visit the new retirement community in Goodyear and stop at a couple other places to do some shopping. There is a yarn sale at Michael's that we will investigate for Josie and perhaps even try a different store since the selections were meager at the local Michael's. There is another one in Surprise and also one near Goodyear - or Avondale, I believe - so we should get a good chance to see some variety. There are about a dozen models at this new retirement community, so we are looking forward to visiting there. It is always fun to see what's out there in the way of "sticks and bricks" in case the day comes when we might want to try that again.

Another stop that we have planned is actually a treat - breakfast at the Village Inn in Surprise. That is a great way to kick-off a weekend that we hope will include some outside, physical activity that we both enjoy and have missed recently. Hiking is a possibility, so it's off to enjoy our weekend...
