One of the couples (Dave and June Pinkston) that we worked with 2 years ago in Cody returned to work there again this year. They took a couple days to visit Jackson and they stopped in the Lodge yesterday at around 3:30 and visited for awhile before heading out to check into their hotel. They will be staying at the Quality Inn Hotel in town for 2 nights as they get a discount from the Blair Hotels (owners of Buffalo Bill Village). We plan to meet them for lunch at 11 AM this morning before we return to work to really catch up on what's new. They spent the last 9 months or so working as Campground Managers at a campground in Ferndale, WA, which is very close to the Canadian border in northwest WA. Many of the folks we worked with at Buffalo Bill Village are back there again this year so it will be fun to catch up on everybody.
The activity level at our Lodge is definitely on the upswing. We had the busiest day so far - outside of the Car Show event - yesterday. Not only were there more check-ins, but the phone rang more for reservations and we had a large number of walk-ins last night. In fact, all of our standard rooms were sold out. We welcome the increase in activity as it helps the time go faster at the front desk.
It's warming up here just in time for our float trip tomorrow. It went down to 42 this morning and we expect a high in the 70's today, with a high near 80 tomorrow. Of course, our float trip is at 9 AM so it will still be chilly when we start out. At any rate, we are approaching normal working conditions here and so far our experience has been wonderful...
