It was another typical day - so far - at work yesterday. Our time with Chelsea, the Manager's daughter, was nice, although she is much more quiet than Donna, the girl we worked with the previous 2 days. That's OK though, she is also a very nice person and one that we will enjoy working with while here. We had a nice conversation with the Administrator, Jim, during the day. He wanted to know how things were going for us and also informed us of how we were selected to be given the offer to work at this popular spot. There were many, many resumes received in response to their Workamper ad, but ours was the first one chosen and he gave us all the reasons. It made us feel good that we had what they were looking for in a couple. We hope it works out for all of us, and we are happy for the opportunity.
Just after getting off from work and coming home form the store where we picked up a few items, we saw this huge dark cloud in the distance that looked like it was headed our way. The entire day was sunny and warm - high of 87 - and this cloud changed things in a hurry. As it approached, the winds picked up with gusts up to 30 MPH and we could see people all over the campground scurrying to put up awnings and pick up loose items. There wasn't much rain associated with it but it cooled things down quite a bit. We had a low of 44 for the day.
It will be nice to have most of the day today - until 3 PM - to do things we need to do around here. Josie will do the laundry and I will take care of some outside things like lawn care and setting up our sprinkler. There will be little rain for the rest of the summer and part of our lawn care responsibilities is to make sure the grass stays green. We bought a cheap ($10) sprinkler to use while here and it should do the job. Our neighbor next door works here at the campground and he volunteered to cut our grass yesterday while he had the ride-on mower that he used to perform his campground duties. We certainly appreciated that.
That's about it for another day in beautiful Jackson Hole, WY. There will probably be another trip to the Tetons on our days off, but we will update the plan as we get closer to Thursday...
