The whole work day yesterday was centered around the Car Rally. I had to help with traffic control to make sure that all the cars assembled in the same area and got started toward town for the parade at 10 AM. Josie worked inside with Donna to handle all the questions and issues for the club members and also handled the normal calls and check-outs for the morning. It was a full day of activities for the club and I was able to take some shots following the parade during my time outside.
This first shot is of the cars that parked out front along the main road:
I think that these folks were the ones that couldn't get a room along the interior courtyard to park their vehicles. The bulk of the club members were in the courtyard along with their vehicles:
It was an unbelievable sight with all these neat classic cars all over the property. I took several shots of some of my favorites, but there are too many to show here. Several of these cars were available for sale, but they were all in the $20K + price range and there aren't many people with that kind of loose change lying around. My favorites weren't available for sale anyway, so it doesn't matter.
We get to handle the mass check-outs today. The big problem is that almost all of them will want to reserve the same rooms for next years' Rally, and that adds time to the check-out process. I'm sure we'll find a way to handle the load.
During the day yesterday, we also made reservations for our float trip for Thursday, June 14, at 9 AM. It is the best time for floating the rapids with the winter snow runoff still taking place. Every time we've crossed the Snake River while on our trips so far, the water has been running high and fast. I hope we hit a good weather day, as we don't need any foul weather to make it more difficult. The long term forecast is good, so we just need to get through our next 4 days at work...
