Bummer Masters and Theft

I was really hyped and feeling happy that Jordan Spieth had a 5 stroke lead in the final round of the Masters tournament when we left for our visit with friends at 2 PM yesterday. There were nine holes remaining for him to play and there were no golfers making any kind of run to catch him. All he had to do was play even par on the back nine, and the second consecutive Masters win would be his. It just wasn't in the cards. He uncharacteristically fell apart on hole number 12 where he hit two balls into the water and took a 7 on this par 3 hole. That ended his chances. I had no idea he had done this until I checked the leaderboard on my smartphone during our visit with our friends. I was so shocked over that performance that I forgot to - once again - take photos of our friends during our wonderful visit at Yogurtini's in Surprise.

Our friends - Cindy Wolfe, Dennis Hesskamp and his wife Barbara - were there when we arrived and we went through the line filling our yogurt cups and we sat down for almost three hours of good conversation. We had not met Barbara before yesterday as only Dennis worked with us at Spring Training. Actually, Dennis and Cindy both worked in concessions at the games while Josie and I worked the retail store for the first time. Our friends are all leaving the area for the summer and we agreed to get together again in November when all of us return to the Phoenix area for the winter.

The big news of the day was from a phone call from our pool maintenance person who informed us that the pool cleaner was missing when he went to our house in the morning to do his weekly maintenance. He was wondering if we took it out of the pool or if someone may have stolen it. It was stolen. We went to the house following that news and placed a lock on the side gate - obviously too late, but, hopefully, will prevent any other thefts for the next week. It will cost us $350 to replace the cleaner (vacuum)  and we will have to do it before next weekend when our tenants move into the house. I will order one from Amazon this morning.

Except for our great visit with our friends, it was a forgettable day...
