Along with all of the other local activities and shopping excursions, we have been working on crafting projects. Josie has been turning out some very creative designs that are worth mentioning. Below is a pillow that she designed for the Christmas season:
It is red, white and green and below you can see the rear panel which is solid red:
I have already shown the articles she has designed that are for Halloween - the pumpkins - and all the various clothing for Barbie dolls that she has crocheted. She can make almost anything out of yarn without a pattern to work from. Maybe we should think about selling these unusual designs online somehow.
I have been working with different cross stitch software to determine how I can market custom cross stitch designs on the Internet. There are already services that will create a cross stitch design from photographs, but I would like to explore taking it a little further with some unusual designs from the National Parks.
We recently received some disturbing news from Josie's family in New Jersey where her older sister, Marie, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Josie has contacted her and Chemo treatments will begin soon to try and shrink the lemon-size tumor they discovered in her stomach to the point where they can safely remove the tumor surgically. That, obviously, was not the kind of news you like to get from family that you haven't heard from in a long time. We will be closely following the progress of those treatments.
It looks like another beautiful, warm and sunny day ahead at Lake Pleasant in Peoria, AZ...
