Local Walks

The mornings are usually clear and calm, even when thunderstorms are in the forecast. Yesterday was no different. I woke up after my usual 7 hours of sleep and was still tired, so I went back to bed after breakfast for an hour while Josie decided to take a walk to Kmart to pick up a few items. It is easy to take walks in the neighborhood as we are close to town and stores that we frequent are within a mile or so of our location. We sat outside for awhile and had a visit from a couple staying in the park that live in FL, saw our truck, and wanted to know about our FL plates. They sold a blueberry farm in MI and bought another farm in FL, near St Augustine where they now raise cattle. It was a nice visit from folks you can easily meet in campgrounds.

We once again had a thunderstorm late in the afternoon which made the fifth day in a row we had precipitation. Work was without major incident which is always good.

Our plan this morning calls for another walk - this time into town - and to mow our grass when we return. The rain we've had the last five days has been a boost in the health of our lawn area and the grass is about 6 inches at this point. Our "Thursday" is today and it will be good to get that chore done before we begin our fun time on our days off this week. We expect to take another bike ride this week - to Jenny Lake in the Tetons - from the spot we turned around on our last excursion into the park. There may also be a hike scheduled on one of our days off, so the improving weather, along with having our chores done, will make that possible. Another great weekend coming up in a summer paradise...
