Frenzy at Work

We seem to be in another weather pattern where we are getting clouds and rain just about every day. The main objective yesterday morning was to mow the grass and get the laundry done. That was accomplished and we did those while light rain fell for much of the time.

The real story from yesterday was the frenzy at work. It was the busiest night we have had this year, and I couldn't remember one last year that was as busy. From about 5 PM until 9:30 last night, we went non-stop checking in reservations, handling walk-ins, fielding phone calls as the phones rang off the hook and trying to satisfy all the guest requests that were mixed in for restaurant suggestions, pool towels, post cards, stamps and just general suggestions on how to schedule trips to the National Parks. Whew! We totally sold out the lodge and I was glad to see the shift end at 11 PM last night.

We received a disturbing email from our friend Carole Cole at Happy Trails where she informed her friends that she has breast cancer and is beginning treatment and will have surgery. Our prayers are with her to lick this bump-in-the-road and to enjoy her time in her new home that she recently purchased in Happy Trails.

Our "Friday" is today, and we are anticipating a much more "sane" day. No firm plans have been made yet for our days off as we are watching the weather forecasts and need some sunshine and warmer temperatures to venture out on the trails - hiking and/or biking. We may just take a drive to one of the parks. We'll decide on that by tomorrow morning...
