and bridges that crossed the creek in a few places:
The ride didn't last as long as we wanted since we didn't have our bike trail map with us to see where the turnoffs led. We did go past the middle school and the high school before we turned around and headed back. The return trip pointed out that their was lots more traffic - both foot and bikes - in this area, and Josie didn't like riding among all the traffic which included folks walking their dogs and small children walking and riding along the path. The total distance we traveled was less than 4 miles.
We will return to the trail outside of town on our days off this week so that we will be more remote and have less traffic to deal with along the way. The plan is to take the trail from Dornan's - where we stopped, had coffee, and turned around on our longest trip so far - and bike to Jenny Lake in the Tetons. That should be a much longer ride for us.
The weather did turn sour again after we went to work yesterday afternoon. We had more rain - for the fourth straight day - but not enough to do more than just put more spots on our vehicle. The forecast is for clearing and warming temperatures for the next several days. It will be nice to see the summer weather again...
