Our practice of taking a walk to different locations in town continued yesterday morning. It was again clear, calm and warming up at 9 AM, so we walked to a different part of town. We walked along the Sno-King Rd behind the campground where there are these beautiful shrubs lining the road - these are called Shrubby Cinquefoil:
They look a lot like buttercup, and are all along the street.
We passed the Fairgrounds and walked to the lift at Sno-King where last year we rode to the top:
This is also where the wildfire last year was burning behind the summit.
As we walked through this different part of town for us, we saw lots and lots of these beautiful hanging baskets that are in full bloom at this time of the year:
That last shot is taken at the Cowboy Village Resort:
and is one of the many lodges in town that competes for our business. We stopped at a couple of them while on our walk, just to become a little more knowledgeable about them and to compare rates. The Cowboy Village Resort, along with all the others in town, are more expensive than our lodge, but are all newer and right in town. That makes for more convenience to the downtown area, but at a price.
We stopped and had a bagel and a latte at our favorite coffee house in town - the Pearl St Bagel Shop - and then made it back home by 11 AM. We picked up the lawn mower and trimmer on the way home and mowed our grass for our weekly duty. The total distance we covered on our walk was nearly 6 miles.
It looks like we will take another walk this beautiful morning, probably in the opposite direction, and walk the trail to our grocery store (Smiths) at the south end of town. Our final work day of the week is today, and we look forward to an extended bike ride tomorrow...
