Growing Crowds

The game yesterday was between the Kansas City Royals and the S F Giants. As the Giants are the reigning World Champs, and lots of folks are here from the Bay Area, it brought out the largest crowd so far - over 5,000 fans. Our stand was very busy and we did the most business of the Spring for any one game. The only problem the whole day was at the start when I arrived at the stand to set up for the day. The crew that worked the college game the night before did not clean up or restock anything before they left following the game. I had to deal with the mess they left before I could do my required setup for the day. The cashiers for our games are able to collect tips from customers, and Josie had a great day yesterday. We hope the crowds keep growing and their generosity continues.

Our game today is between the Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers so we expect another large crowd. There are many fans here from WA and Texas, so it should be another bell ringer for attendance. If the night crew from last night's game did anything close to their required clean up, it will be a good ending to our work week. Tonight is the final night game that we need to prepare for and close our stand early. It has been a long week, physically, and we are both looking forward to the next two days of relaxation. We will be busy though trying to catch up on tasks that we need to complete prior to our departure. We hope to travel with a much lighter load this summer and we will put, hopefully, lots of unnecessary weight into our storage unit.

All of March - both days so far -have been in the 80's and we expect the same again today. The skies are clear and no rain is in the forecast so it's off to work for the final time this week...
