Just when I think it is time for a low scoring, pitchers duel, we get another donnybrook. The game yesterday was won by the Royals over the Diamondbacks, 11-10. That now makes a total of 63 runs scored in the last three games. It was more like a batting practice session than a serious game. No pitcher that played in the game was able to get the other side out 1-2-3 in any inning. All that does is drag the game out to a long, tiring day for us. You would think at this part of the Spring Training season that teams would be playing their starters to get a feel for how the team will play at the starting gate for the season, which is little more than a week away. If they are playing their starters, it's going to be a long season for the pitchers.
The attendance was listed at over 6600 fans and they were hungry and thirsty the entire game. We did a very good volume of business - nearly $10K - and that's what our employer wants to see. The game today between the Reds and the Rangers will not be as large a crowd and we are hoping for a quick game, an old fashioned pitchers duel. It is also our last Sunday of baseball, and the last day I have to work with this crew that is so different and inferior to to the weekday crew. Four games to go, and it's sayonara.
