I took the book we use - Short Hikes and Easy Walks - to work last night to plan our hike for this week. It looks like we will do a hike that amounts to about 3.5 miles total, around a small lake at the bottom of the Tetons called String Lake. We've seen pictures taken from this trail and it looks like a winner as far as being an easy trail to walk and obtaining some great photos. The only problem we have is with the weather forecast. It is suppose to be mostly cloudy with showers today, but so far, the sun is shining and there isn't a cloud in the sky. Hmmm.
There are some great deals at Costco on things we've been needing and Josie did a search to see where the nearest Costco was located to Jackson and it is in Pocatello Idaho. That is 139 miles from here and could be combined with a trip to Idaho Falls which would be on the way to Pocatello. We may have that trip in our plans as that could allow us to pick up some things that are unique to Sam's Club (in Idaho Falls) at the same time as going to the Costco - and provide a nice drive to a new place in this area.
We are going to get ready now and take a chance that the weather will hold for us to do our planned hike. I hope to have some good reports of the area in tomorrow's blog...
