Yesterday was the final day for Josie to work at the shop on 19th Ave for Phoenix Flower Shops. The rest of her time, until we leave following Mother's Day, will be spent at the production location on Union Hills Drive in Sun City. They brought in lunch for her and the General Manager of the company was also there to say goodbye for the summer. The GM was very complimentary and wants her to return again next season. He pointed out what we already know - Josie is a terrific, experienced and dependable employee that they are getting without paying company benefits and are getting relatively cheap. Josie may be asking for an increase in pay for next year. :)
This weekend will include our going through the basement of our rig to make sure we aren't traveling with items that we won't need this summer. We have already lightened the load somewhat, but can take out even more weight to leave behind. With all the problems we've had with our hydraulics and the bedroom slide, it is getting to the point where we are overly cautious about what we include in our travels. Extra weight is an enemy, and we have been lucky so far as we have been relatively problem free since we started traveling six years ago.
Most of the sorting is done and our stretch run over the next couple weeks should be concentrating on getting everything ready outside - taking all the the cloth off the gazebo, packing the cushions from the furniture and making sure the covers are enough to protect the furniture through the hot summer. We are, I believe, well prepared for the summer...
