Errands and Walk

It was a busy morning for us. Starting with Josie's Mammogram at the Del Webb Women's Center which was then followed with a trip to her shop to pick up her paycheck and then going to the bank. Josie needed some yarn for an afghan, so we stopped at Joann's in Peoria. It was lunch time by then, so we stopped at Jersey Mike's and had a sub and cheese steak. Dessert was on our minds so we then made a stop at the DQ on Lake Pleasant Rd and then Walmart next to DQ to pick up some items. One of the items we purchased was a Presto popcorn popper that we have been talking about trying for quite awhile. That about wrapped up our outing for the day.

We wanted to take a walk along the lake in the late afternoon, so we set out at around 6:30 PM to catch the changes in the desert plants that were now beginning to show their spring colors. The marina looked quiet as we walked down the hillside toward the lake:

The cactus were starting to bloom and we got some shots of the buckhorn cactus which were just starting to bloom:

Even though the saguaro were not yet in bloom, we could see the tops were getting very white and soon would be bursting with white blossoms. The concentration of saguaro's at this part of the lake is large:

and they will be beautiful when they begin to blossom in about a month.

The ocotillo were in bloom and we got a couple shots of those:

Aside from getting some exercise on our walk, we enjoyed the start of spring on the lake with all the blooming plants. The day ended with trying out our new popcorn popper and enjoyed some fresh popcorn before turning in for the night.

We have a visit scheduled today to one of Josie's co-worker's place in Sun City. She recently moved into a new home and is having a housewarming party late this afternoon. That's about it on the schedule for today except for maybe some organizing around the rig...
