Basement Organized

The main task for yesterday was to empty, sort, consolidate and repack the basement. Following a short trip to Michael's to pick up some yarn for Josie's new project, we began the outside work. Before emptying the basement, we had noticed - over the months - that our tree was getting some low hanging branches that needed to be removed before they punctured our gazebo roof or created a problem around our shed. We both got our chance at cutting those down:

It now looks good again and all the threatening branches have been removed. I'm sure there will be more work required on this tree when we return next October, but we'll cross that bridge when the time comes.

The basement project was then started, and we had everything spread all over the site to sort and consolidate:

It didn't take all that long to finish as I had already emptied and cleaned the basement when we had the mobile tech out to try adjustments on our bedroom slide. We did gather some stuff to take to our main storage in Surprise which we may do today. Along with some more books that were removed from a bedroom closet, we should be down to a weight that should provide some improvement in gas mileage for our return trip to Jackson. Not to mention that it will be safer to travel with less weight.

Today we will get two of our propane tanks refilled - one of our main large tanks, and the new one we purchased with the grill recently. That one needs to have the air purged before filling. We have gone the entire stay this winter on just one of our main propane tanks which is terrific. Then, a trip to our storage unit in Surprise may be in order...
