Just about all of the changes are made to our original trip plan to Jackson in May. We will now make the trip in a more direct and shorter time frame. Instead of leaving on Tuesday the 13th of May, we now leave on Friday, the 16th. We have eliminated all the stops at Monument Valley, Moab and Flaming Gorge, and will drive through familiar locations. We will drive to Las Vegas on Friday and stay at the Thousand Trails Preserve in that city. It is still up in the air whether we will spend two nights there. The reason for the question mark is that by staying two nights, we would drive almost 400 miles to the next stop in Heber, UT, at the Deer Creek State Park. If we break up the drive on that leg, we could stay at an identified park in Beaver, UT, which splits the drive into 225 mile and 175 mile legs. Either way, we now arrive in Jackson one day earlier - on the 19th instead of the 20th - than the original schedule. We'll have to do the fun trip some other time, although Vegas is always fun.
Josie had an extra long day yesterday as it was Secretary's Day. We forgot about that special day. It should be back to normal today which is her final day for this week. It is also the last weekend that she will have off until we leave in Mid May. It promises to be a busy weekend getting our final projects completed before the trip...
