Easter Carryover

We are both paying a short term price for our Easter food consumption. There is a spike in our weight, as expected, but it sure was enjoyable. :)

The good news is that, so far, we are maintaining our weight from the first of the year. We still have a goal to lose 20 or so pounds this year, so we will have to make it happen in Jackson. It should be a lot easier there, as there are lots of ways to burn energy and calories by hiking and biking. We also don't eat as much when we work the evening shift at the Lodge. Time will tell.

We tried out our new tabletop grill last night to make sure everything was OK. It was terrific and is something we should have purchased a long time ago. The weight is less than half of the grill we have been traveling with the last six years. We will leave the larger grill here in our shed while in Jackson. There are still some items that we can leave behind and will sort those out from the basement in the next week or so.

I received a call from Josie's shop yesterday finalizing the delivery schedule for Mother's Day. It looks like I will be on-call for Thursday the 8th of May, and will drive on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Mother's Day). That is always good for a few extra dollars to use on our trip north. With both vehicles going again, it will surely help.

We are following the landslide news from Jackson. It is very close to the Lodge and is really only about a block away and across the street. We will be anxious to see the activity when we arrive in Jackson and will get some photos for the blog. We feel sorry for the folks that are affected by the slide and are losing their homes. We are sure there will be an impact on the summer traffic through that part of town. Let's hope it all gets settled by then...
