Walking and Watering

We have been so busy at work the last week or so, we don't feel much like getting out and doing anything that will tire us out before going to work. Yesterday was a good example. We know we need to get the exercise so we took a short walk (2.5 miles) around the neighborhood and checked out a few places we haven't been before. Actually, we started out on the bike trail behind the post office and took off onto one of the back streets where there is a real nice subdivision and then walked out onto the main road to get back home. It was the kind of walk that is more for exercise and not for exploring.

After our short walk, we returned home to turn on the sprinkler to help keep our grass green. It also helps to speed up the growth of the lawn so we can keep mowing it at least once a week. How dumb. We shouldn't even have to care for the grass but since we do, it may as well look decent.

Our week is ended and we had a very ambitious goal of hiking Josie's Ridge today. This morning, however, we are still tired from last night's super busy shift on the job and are not moving very fast to make it happen. Maybe we'll save that for tomorrow. I'm sure we will come up with some activity to try and beat the lousy weather that is coming later today and tomorrow. It's also about time we rode our bikes again, at least to test out the tune-up we got last week. There are many things we still want to do in our free time and we are beginning to run out of that with about 7 weeks to go. Pretty soon we will begin the detail planning for our trip from here, to IL and then on to AZ for the winter...
