Still Looking for Bears

So far this summer, bears are about the only animal we haven't seen. It was such a nice morning yesterday, we decided to take a drive back to  Pilgrim Creek Road where we went earlier this summer following a report of a grizzly family being spotted nearby. It's been awhile since we have traveled back into the northern section of the Park, so it was nice to see the mountains again. The snow has just about disappeared from the high peaks:

It doesn't matter though, as the mountains are always special.

The wildflowers are about gone for the season and the snow runoff has resulted in very low water levels, including the Pilgrim Creek which flows into the Snake River. This shot shows how low the water level has become:

It was nice and peaceful while walking along the creek and Josie tried to locate some unusual rocks which are plentiful in this area:

She didn't find any that were worth keeping, so we continued on to return home. We saw no bears and we saw no sign of them, but we did see a couple large groups of pronghorn in the distance on the
drive home. We spent the rest of the morning at home where Josie completed the afghan she was working on - except for the fringe which she plans to add today and tomorrow:

It was another sellout at work and we handled all the situations without any major incidents. There were a couple incidents during the night before where the Jackson Hole security officer was called in to break up a couple of loud parties in two locations on the lodge grounds. These were at 3 AM and are the first cases that we know about for this summer season. For this reason, it's nice that we don't work in the AM to hear all the complaints from guests who lost sleep as a result of the noise.

Another beautiful day is in the forecast for today, and the long term report is for more of the same until Thursday when have our first day off for the week. It looks like we need to mow the grass again so maybe we can get that done before Thursday so we can plan something for the whole day. In the meantime, it's work as usual...
