Most of the morning yesterday was spent comparing insurance programs for our vehicles. Since we don't have the Jeep, our car insurance - although less than for both the truck and the Jeep - lost the multi vehicle discount. Worse than that, we have two separate companies insuring our fifth wheel and the truck. Most auto insurance companies will not write a policy for the fifth wheel since we are full timers, and the fifth wheel is actually our home. That has always been a problem for all full timers. We have had GMAC insure our fifth wheel with an RV policy, and GEICO insure our truck with an auto policy. We received a notice that GMAC is becoming National General, and is expanding their insurance offerings to provide combined insurance.
It took some time to locate the proper agent to quote our combined policy, and we expect to get the details today. It would be nice to have both the RV and truck with one company with a lower combined insurance bill.
We are looking forward to our days off this week. The weather is suppose to be terrific and we will get out and do some serious hiking. We plan to do the Josie's Ridge behind us and that should be a real challenge with the steep climb that is involved. We hope we are up to the challenge.
Last night was the first night in about 3 weeks that we didn't sell out the lodge. We still had 37 walk-ins which is the most we've had this season in one night. The reason we didn't sell out was that there was no tour bus that represents about 25-30 rooms that are sold to accommodate the travelers. We ended the night with about 15 rooms remaining. The mix of guests is becoming more and more walk-ins as the kids are starting to return to school and the old folks are traveling without reservations.
One more day, today, and another work week is in the books...
